2007 Ford F 150 Trucks Recently Started Make Clicking Sound On Occassion Apply

My trucks has recently started to make a clicking sound on occassion when I apply the brakes, this does not happen each time. What could cause this?

hardware hitting the rotor. rotor out of round or hot spots. have them checked to verify
