I recently bought a 2007 Ford Edge. Inside at the bottom of the windshield it looks like a gasket or sealer of some sort has come out from between the windshield and the dash. The dealer was to fix it but it looks like they just removed it instead. Will this cause problems? I tend to be of the opinion that it was there for a reason.

Probably leak in water, at 55 during a storm

May get into the "Brains" under the dash (if it is not sealed, as you say)

May start walkin' in the rain!......Bring an umbrella!

I'd go to Mr. Big Guy at the dealer....if the service manager was "in charge" of the initial repair, looks like maybe he let things get by!

May need a little upper echelon motivation.
