As of now it's pointing in the 3 o'clock position. No matter where it is showing, it never shows correct. When I disconnect the battery, it resets and it will read correctly, but that only works for a short time. Maybe a day or if lucky two. Also, when not reading correctly it likes to run the fan a lot, but when reset and the gauge is working correctly it seems like it runs like it should. I'm not sure if this would be a sensor issue or a cluster issue. Thoughts?

Hello,

This is probably the sensor that is causing the erratic reading on the gauge. It is possible to be the gauge, but you will want to check the sensor first.

The temperature sensor can be tested using a multimeter. It will have a certain resistance value at a given temperature. I have attached the chart that shows the correct resistance values.
Also included are diagrams of the replacement procedure.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
