weird metallic smell coming from the vent

My husband just replaced the condenser fan in our 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 about a month ago. Recently, there has been a weird metallic smell coming from the vent when the A/C is on. Any idea what is causing this?

Have you checked to see if there is a problem with the drain in the system? You could have water standing in the system and it can cause a strange odor.

If that is the case, does the drain tube go through the bottom of the chassis can we attach a vacuum to it and suck out the standing water or do we have to dismantle the cabin to get to it?

It should go through the lower section of the firewall. Just make sure it isn't plugged.
