seems to have popped a cable

Hi,

On this vehicle, the transfer case shift linkage is an actual adjustable shaft and not a cable. If you look at the pic below, I highlighted the shaft I'm referring to.

There is an adjustment slide on the side of it, Make sure it didn't just come loose and slip. If that is what happened, you can re-adjust it and tighten things up when done.

If you look at the remaining pics below, they include the directions for adjusting it. If you find the linkage has broken, simply disconnect it from the shift lever and transfer case, install the new one, and then adjust.,
