2007 Dodge Magnum Driving On Highway 60 Mph Suddenly Car Dies Got Towed

I was driving on the highway at 60 MPH. Suddenly the car dies. I got the car towed to the dealership for diagnosis. I was told I needed a timing belt replacement, water pump, and the other stuff you get changed with this type of repair. ($1300) I got a call now telling me I need a engine :( . Cylinders
1 and 2 aren't getting compression. Car want start. What should I do?? I still owe money on the car.

First of all, which engine do you have? Some are "interference" engines. Some use chains instead of a belt.The valves get bent when they get hit by the pistons as they coast to a stop. You do not replace the entire engine for that. You do a valve job. That can be avoided by replacing the timing belt at the recommended intervals so it doesn't break.
