were is the deactivation/ intake valve control selonoied located on a 07 durango. can i repair it?

The What? are you reffering to a system Cadillac used in 70's to go from 8 to 6 to 4 cylinders?

Im having the same issue but on Cylinder #2, engine just starting knocking
Took it in and on the computer its shows P3497 #07E8 CYLINDER DEACTIVATION SYSTEM BANK 2
Told now to tak it into a dodge dealership as its not kicking back into a 4 cylinder mode and that all head need to be removed HUGE JOB, any suggestions as to what this could be
