Hello,
The ABS light can be triggered when the on-board diagnostic system detects any fault within the ABS system. The traction control system is part of the ABS components and with the ABS light illuminated the traction control system will not work.
The ABS light can be turned on due to a bad sensor, wiring issue, bad module etc.
When the ABS light gets illuminated, the first step would be to have the vehicle scanned for ABS codes. This can help with the diagnostics.
