2007 Dodge Caliber Battery light

What could make the battery light come on its a new battery and the alternator has been checked after a day of the light being on the car will cut off and want start back up until I get a jump it cut off on me when I was stopped at a light and all these lights in the car started flashing please help

check to see if terminal lends are tight first as well as cable connections. they may not be. there is also a fusible link that runs from starter to alternator that may have burnt out. also check belt and tensioner it may be time for replacement of those two items
