my chevy tahoe stops accelerating randomly but it stays on.I can only reverse.

A warning bell usually comes on before it stops accelerating and once it comes to a stop i have to turn it off wait about a minute then turn it on again that usually works.

First have the trouble codes pulled. Advance Auto or Auto Zone will do this for free. It should give you a clue as to what is going on. If no codes show up, test the fuel pressure. Both parts stores also have loaner fuel pressure test gauges and will show you how to test pressure.
