2007 Chevrolet Express Motor Keeps Running After Close Switch Take Out Key While

the motor keeps running after I close the switch and take out the key,while I step on the brake pedal,;as soon as I remove the foot out the brake,then the engine stops.Always the same since a month ago.
my mechanic says the switch is O.K. What then ??
