What does it mean and what is the importance of a message that says "serv tpm"?

It means that there is a problem with the Tire Pressure monitoring system. Start out by checking all the tire pressures.

That's the Tire Pressure Monitor. Those silly government-mandated systems cause more trouble than they prevent. Check your tire pressures, but it's more likely there is a sensor problem.
