I have a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado with 20,000 miles on it and it runs great but my check engine light is on. I got a code, P0017, at the dealer. The camshaft actuator was replaced and positioned. The dealer said it was all set, the light came back on, another dealer did the same thing, and the light came back on once again. The first time they were done, my power locks and windows didn't work, but came on the next day. The second time, my brake lights are out. When I fill the gas tank up with gas, the light goes out, so I got a new gas cap, drove 200 miles, filled the tank, and the light went out once again for the day, but will come back on when I start it first thing in the morning. Windows and door locks work now, brake lights are still out. If I top the tank off every day the light will go out, but come back on again. What's wrong with my truck?

Hope the following information helps.
There is a bulletin out there to delaers to replace the cam solenoid on this as that cures 99% of them. There is a screen that clogs on the cam sensor and shold be cleaned. Aso there may be to much end play in the crankshaft but I doubt that with 20,000 miles. Make sure when you get gas to hear 3 clicks when tightening the cap. Your evap cannister sollenoid may be bad as well. You should really have the code read and maybe a freeze frame run to see what set it off.
