I was going up a hill and sliding so I tryed to put it in 4x4 and it just flashed at me I left the truck in drive and rolled back and the truck turnd off and I had to restart it but it still wouldent go in to 4x4 I know I shouldent have rolled down the hill in drive. But why wouldent it shift in to 4x4 even after it still wont?

It could be the encoder motor on tcase but have it scanned first it may be something else
