How to fix the coolant reading and a/c?

I have a 2007 chevy cobalt. My digital coolant reading is showing ---F and the a/c is blowing out hot air. Also, the check engine light is on. I took it to auto zone and he gave me a new coolant temp sensor bc it came up on the code so once it was put in it didnt fix the problem. Any suggestions?
