2007 Chevrolet Avalanche fueling

I recently bought this vehicle and am not very familiar with it. When I go to fuel up the gas pump will not stay on, it just keeps turning off (stops fueling) I have tried moving the gas hose in different positions, but I still have the same problem, I can fuel up if I hold onto the pump and barely squeeze the handle.

check to see if vent tube going to tank is pinched or kinked. it's the small tube leading down form filler neck to tank.
