Dealer had to remove front axle to replace oil pan gasket and he broke casting on front axle it now has 3 bolts holding it on to the frame instead of 4 bolts it should have, I believe the dealer should replace the axle, whata think? Thanks Lee

Yes, I the place you took your car to should cover own up and replace the front differential housing. You have to remove the front differential in order to remove the engine oil pan gasket. It is the only way to remove the oil pan. If the shop broke, damaged, or ruined power train mounting they need to cover it.
Now, I think it would be they're discretion on how to repair it. They could replace the whole unit with a salvage yard differential or use a part off of the salvage yard part or order a new part to replace the broken mounting.
Thanks for the question

Can the oil pan be removed from this 2007 escalade without dropping the front differential someone told that sometimes the mechanic will remove 3 bolts and loosen the 4th bolt and let the diff hang on the 4 th bolt, thus putting a ton of strain on the aluminum casting. Maybe thats how the casting got broke thanks Lee

The differential is heavy so I can imagine the mounting would break easily.
Sorry for the long delay.
