remote starter

i just bought a 2007 cadillac cts.the problem is my remote opens and locks the doors.but does not start the car or even opens up the trunk plus the alarm.but when you press it.it does light up.

u may need to reprogrem the remote. at the dealer does both remotes have the same prob. does the switch for thetrunk work from the glove comp?

If your remote start does not function, there may be powertrain codes present in the ECM. There are code that do not necessarily turn the check egine light on, but almost all P codes prohibit remote start as a default.
