surging when traveling up a hill

2007 BUICK LA CROSSE
150,000 MILES • 3.8L • V6 • 2WD • AUTOMATIC

Car is surging when you go up a hill, can give it gas and it smooths out.
Fuel pressure is 58 so we do not think it is the fuel pump.

Good evening.

It could be the catalytic converter partially clogged. that is a common issue.
