ignition problem

2006 volvo s60 with 60k miles: sudden inability to turn ignition switch beyond electrical activating mark. Key fob/battery ok. able to turn steering wheel. No prior electrical problems or ignition problems.

Try lubericating the tumbler to see if that helps.

The tumbler inside has failed. You will need to order the steering column lock from the dealer.
