i have 2006 2.5L volkswagon jetta, theres just over 90,000 miles on the engine, i have been experiencing a loss of power when i step on the accelerator, i will be driving around 65-70 mph and when i step on the peddle the car just boggs down, it feels like it just sucks the power away, if you have any ideas please let me know. i changed the oil about 2,000 miles ago and also my plugs are about 8 months old, so i dont understand where the loss of power is comming from

timing belt is due and the timing change could do this.

the cat converter may be failing not allowing the engine to breathe.

The 2.5l engine does not have a timing belt... it uses chains!
