cyl 1 misfire

Ive got a 2006 jetta check eng came on code is cylinder 1 misfire. Its got 109000 miles. Now I found out it could be plug or bad wire as well as bad o2 sensor even clogged catalytic or vacuum leak. where would you start with that?I

compression test, fuel pressure test, spark test on that cylinder.

check the injector and wiring. check for vacuum leak around the intake manifold.

when was the last time it had plugs, wires, cap and rotor

What's the engine code / size.

Cap & rotor haven't been used since 1999, so don't worry about trying to find those.
