An intermittent grinding noise that sounds as if it's coming from the front driver area - wheel/brake/axle. It pops up for a few minutes then goes again, only to come back next day or in a couple of days. The noise is less frequent since having the brakes checked at a garage. The noise sounds 'rotational' - like something rubbing/grinding each time it makes a rotation.

If the brakes are good, check to see if there is a problem with the front hub bearing. Also, there is a metal shield behind the brake rotor. Make sure it isn't bent and making contact with the rotor. I will assume the brakes are good since you already had them checked.
