Just had new cylinder head put on van, cost fortune, got the old one back from mechanic. Can someone tell me what happens in a pressure test, just my old one has come back covered in oil as it was when it was taken out with three injectors wedged in it and one out so I had to buy new injectors as well

I think you are referring to a compression test. Basically, the compression produced by the engine is tested and must meet a minimum amount. As far as the oil, chances are it was like that when it was still on the engine.
