Driver's side brake light went out. Decided to replace both brake light bulbs while the liftgate was dismantled, bought two bulbs and replaced them. Now neither of the lower brake lights work, although they illuminate when headlights are on. Top brake light and corner brake lights still work fine. Already went back to the parts store to see if I purchased the correct bulbs and they say they are the double filament bulbs that are specified in their computer. Any suggestions?

Check the bulb installation. The plug in type tends to have problem with the contacts when not correctly seated.
