vapour canister issue

hi i have a 2006 toyota corolla ce it has a bad vapour canister the dealer wants 1200 for parts and labour. i cant afford that so i found a guy that will do it for 300 if i find him the part. i found a part from a 2005 corolla will it work in the 2006?

where did you find part? why not just compare?

did the dealer tell you it was bad? did you ask them what was bad about it? dealers have been known to pad there work with needless replacemnets to improve profit margins.
