power steering warning light comes on at random when driving. No apparent power steering problems.

oops? wrong model, may not apply. do you have an owners manual? should be info in there. could be a funky sensor?

Variable power assist function is not working properly. You will still have power assist but it will not vary based on vehicle speed.
