2006 Suzuki Forenza Drive problem

I have a 2006 Suzuki forenza when I have the car in drive and press the gas it won't go but I can here it accelerating also on the dash where it would be a D when on drive it switches to a flash in d with a \ thru it in a rectangle box. If I shift to 1st or 2nd gear it will do the same thing but if switched to 3rd gear it with show the 3 on the dash and will drive just fines this happens for about 15-20 minutes after driving in 3rd for that time then switching back to D and it will work fine this happens about once every 1-3 days
