The manual states that the Forenza has a hydraulic clutch. It has started becoming harder to change gears.

Is the pedal a firm push from top of travel to floor, if there is any slack or free play you may have a hydraulic leak, check fluid level in master cylinder and check slave cylinder on gear box for leaks and also the back of the master cyl , if no leaks does drive take up at or near the full release position, that is pedal at top of travel, if so the clutch will be well worn and mat need replacing.
