Drivers side window motor and regulator were replaced 8 months ago. Yesterday the window went up so out of alignment the door couldn't be shut. When the window was rolled back down. It's off track. The mechanic who installed it. Had it in off center to begin with originally & argued it was ok. Until I pointed out it didn't align correctly with the door shut. Then he said Subarus were "frameless" and this made the repair hard to do. Is the current problem related to the install 8 months ago?

Yes, I would say it is. It sounds like this guy didn't really know what he was doing when it comes to setting up all the adjustments.
