2006 Saturn Ion Key stuck in ignition

My alarm was going off and I didn't hear it so it ran my battery out. I went to try and start it and my key got stuck it will not turn all the way forward or all the way back! I haven't been able to get my key out and haven't even been able to lock my car! What could be wrong?

I don't know why it won't turn forward but there is a override to turn it off if the battery goes dead.Look on the underside of the steering column shrouds you will see a small access door.Remove the door then you will be able to move the arm to turn the key off.Let me know how it works.
