Car sitting idle

my car has been sitting idle for around 5 months due to a football injury ive not been able to use it. I have tried to start it and obviously the battery is dead. it would seem that the brakes are ceased aswell. Is it safe to start the engine if i use jump leads. the car is a renault megane coupe.

It would be OK better to have BATT charged and tested. Brakes may try bleeding
