2006 Porsche 996 Check oil level

When must oil be added? The "oil light" has not gone on, but when I check the oil level it is approaching the Bottom indicator. I bought the car used about 5 months ago and have driven about 1,000 miles.

All cars will "use" some oil, known as blowby. This is normal. Some can use a quart every three thousand miles. If your oil is fairly clear, top it off and note the mileage. Check it again regularly and see how fast it goes. Then call a few Porsche dealers and ask if your findings are normal
