Car stored in garage 6 months. When drove it brake pedal went all the way down with poor stopping. Mechanic pumped brake pedal to get it back to normal with it staying their after checking for leak. Should I get a new master cylinder?

First time this has happened.

CHECK YOUR BRAKE FLUID LEVEL

IF FLUID IS LOW--REFILL, THEN LOOK FOR FLUID UNDER THE VEHICLE/ DOWN THE BACKSIDE OF THE WHEELS. BROKE LINE OR HOSE. LEAKING CALIPERS OR WHEEL CYLINDERS MIGHT BE THE SOURCE

IF NO FLUID CAN BE FOUND OR IS LOST---SUSPECT INTERNAL PLUNGERS OR O-RINGS IN THE MASTER CYLINDER MAY BE DETERIORATED. THIS WOULD LET FLUID INTERNALLY SLIP BY THE PISTON INSTEAD OF PUSHING TOWARDS EACH WHEEL. REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BLEED THE SYSTEM

DRIVING WITH THE BRAKES IN THIS CONDITION MIGHT MEAN THAT YOU NEVER MIGHT GET TO RESPOND BACK TO ME WITH GOOD NEWS. SHOULD IT BE A SPECTACULAR CRASH, I MIGHT GET TO SEE IT ON THE NEWS

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND
