Replaced head gasket when it blew but car tries to start and doesnt

Passenger side head gasket blew and had water in cylinders, we cleaned it out and ran oil through everything before putting everything back together to make sure no coolant and water in anything.

What can we use for engine compression we are checking spark right now

You would need a compression tester to test the compression.
