I have been told that the regulator is located near the fuel rail in the engine compartment. I have also been told that it is a replaceable part of the fuel pump in the fuel tank. I have purchased a regulator but cannot find the existing regulator near the fuel rail. I have pulled the pump out and do not see it there either. Can you please tell where the fuel pressure regulator is located?
Thank you, Walter Declerck

It is in the tank and pump will have to come apart to fix it. Pump can be accessed by rear seat removal and access plate. There is only one fuel pump and regulator. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

From Wdeclerck.

Thank you for the quick response.
The regulator on the drawing does not look like I was sold by Autozone.
Can you get me a bigger picture of the regulator?
Thanks,
Walter

The one that you have may look like the one in first picture. However, everything I have seen the regulator is in the pump assembly even I have included a picture of that as well which shows it better. There is a TSB if your car is cranking more than three seconds to start. The TSB number is NTB05-052c. The part numbers are 17342-01a00 and 22670-zg80c. This is for QR25 or QG18 engines only. It is very probable that the autoparts sold you the wrong or a newer design part. Check with dealer as this may still be done under warranty. However, I kind of doubt it. See pictures.

I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8s and I would like to know how to replace the fuel pump pressure regulator, the car takes about 10 seconds to start and sometimes it take two tries before it will start, especially after it sits awhile or if it is hot outside. Thanks Ronnie

There is no fuel pressure regulator on this car only the fuel pump which is the regulator as well. I would replace the pump it has a trap door via a service hole under the rear seats. The diagram shows an exploded view of the pump and how to remove the clips holding the service hole cover.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Cheers
