We were driving home and our Murano jerked after giving is gas at the bottom of a hill. After that it was making a rattling noise. About ten miles later it quit running. I then noticed it had overheated. We pushed it home but now it won't fire(turn over). I had someone check the codes and it came back with a PO340, A PO345 and a P1217. What could have happened? It was running good up to this point.

345 is the cam sensor so tha tmay be bad or the crank sensor 1217 means the engine was overtemp. this may be a can bus problem so best to have a pro check it. means it didnt' get the signal to the pcm for some reason and the cooling fans probably quit working. two of the three arrows are cam sensor and the bottom one is crank sensor

Why would both cam sensors give and error (bank 1 and bank 2). Could they have possibly both went bad? The vehicle only has 49,000 miles other wise I would question the timing chain.

it'snot necessarily the sensors if you read my reply right its the can /bus problem that isn't allowing the sensor to let the pcm read it.

computer area network- it allows microprocessors and modules to communicate with each other a pro has to check this out to fix it. yours is either a wiring or module issue but a pro needs to hook his scanner up to verify the problem as well as see where it lies. Yours can't
