I have the car listed above it is the SL model. I press the gas pedal and it will not accelerate. I put the car in park and turned the car off then turned it back on and still it would not go. Then the car's temperature went up and got very hot! So I do not know what is going on.

Hello,

If there is a check engine light on we should start by checking the codes.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

If no light is on I would check for we plugged catalytic converter. Here is a guide to help confirm the failure:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-test-a-catalytic-converter

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Yes, this is the throttle actuator or the throttle pedal sensor that is having a problem. Here is the location of the throttle actuator which is usually what goes out:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-a-throttle-body-works

and here is a guide to help you check the wiring:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

Check out the engine wiring diagrams (below) which have the throttle actuator circuit.

Cheers, Ken
