When I start the truck it drives fine. When I stop and then try to accelerate, the truck is still in the high gear. When I turn off the ignition and restart it drives just fine. When I am driving and try to accelerate, it will not downshift. What is wrong and how can it be fixed?

Is the check engine light on? It sounds like an issue with the trans control module.
