Oil pressure

I have a 2006 nissan 350Z track, I have low oil pressure ( just above "0" ) and a knocking noise. The motor is full of oil. When I check the oil, it is all the way up the dip-stick, could this be a oil pump problem?

Chcking with engine off level ground? Does oil smell of gas?

Could be if you check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to rule it out-contributing factors could be excessive valve lash/valve lifters/engine bearings etc-
