mitsubishi outlander 2006 whistling noise when braking/driving

loud high pitch sound when applying brakes at high speed but also hear it while driving--car seems fine--maybe using a little more gas than normal-no problems braking they seem good

you could maybe rent an electronic suspension noise finder from auto place to try and isolate noisemaker.

took car in/told it was brakes and rotors-$500!--also have loose tie rod front passenger side tire--just bought this car (used) last may! about 6 months ago--thrifty auto sales in johnston ri--they told me they had fixed the tie rod and never said a word about the brakes---buyer beware!!!

500? i could do it for 200 or less! if brakes feel ok just consider getting new pads. look in local paprs for specials like 49$.
