I recently replaced my brake pads (front only) and the brakes seem to be much softer now... ie, I have to push the pedal further to get the desired stopping effect. In response, I bled my front brake lines but it doesn't feel like it helped any.

I don't feel like the brakes aren't working, but like I said, I have to increase the travel of the brake pedal to get the effect. Any advice?

Did you have the rotors machined? After retracting the pistons into the calipers, you had to stroke the brake pedal a few times to work them back out until the new pads contacted the rotors. At any time did you press the brake pedal more than half way to the floor?
