Upon stopping I have a hard brake pedal and if I have to stop quick it tends to pull generally to the right. What could it be?

Brake caliper not releasing or applying. Stop on a slight incline, shift to neutral, release the brakes, then see if the vehicle creeps down hill on its own. If not, place a block about a foot down hill from one tire, then crawl underneath and open the bleeder screws on the calipers. If doing that lets the brakes release, the best suspect is a constricted rubber flex hose.

If there are any screws in the hub of the drum, remove them first. (However I don't believe there are any)

The drum should then slide off. If it doesn't budge, hit the hub of the drum with a hammer and rotate the drum until it loosens off.
