We have had this problem in our shop. The 3.0 Mazda mpv has to have the cam and crank sensor signals in sync within the tolerances set if the timing chain stretches beyond the spec you will loose the the spark and fuel signals from the pcm usually with a p0340 cam code. Changing all the sensors, coils, plugs ect will not fix this problem. We have verified this by adding a another trigger point along side the original on the cam gear tricking the PCM into thinking the signals are in time.Van started and ran perfect. Chain did not jump time just stretched. No CEL.
