2006 Mazda 3 Driving Car Highway Speed Bumped Shifter Into Park Accidentally

Was driving car at highway speed, bumped shifter into park (accidentally). Car went into neutral and rolled to side of road. Now unable to get out of park. Read online that this is probably a safety/lockout mechanism. Do you know anything about this? What kind of repairs should I anticipate?

no, you did some internal damage to the trans from this.

you may need a trans shop to help you to tell you the extent of the damage and an estimate. it will not be cheap.
