Can't get rear seat belt to release so you can use it and it is totally retracted. It is in the rear drivers side and has an air bag on same side.
How can we fix it without going to a dealer. It is a 2006 Kia Sorento EX. Thanks

Before doing any work on or around an air bag, disconnect the battery and wait for at least 30 minutes before starting.

As far as the seat belt, it isn't serviceable. Because it is a safety feature, you need to basicaly unbolt it and replace it with a new one. Because of the mileage on the vehicle, you may be able to talk Kia into replacing it for free. Explaine that it is a safety concern and the car only has 50K on it. It never should have gone bad that soon. Chances are they will see it your way. If you need to, talk with the manager and call the Kia help line located in your owner's manual for a rep in your area.
