MY ISUZU D MAX DIESEL TRUCK HAS STARTED TO GIVE ME ISSUES WITH THE TURBO. MY MECHANIC SAYS I NEED TO FULLY OVERHAUL THE ENGINE BECAUSE THE PISTONS ARE DECOMPRESSED. IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY? I NEVER HAD HAD ANY ISSUES WITH ENGINE DECOMPRESSION.

What do you mean by decompressed? Never heard of such a term for pistons.

If cylinders have lost compression, it usually means the piston rings are worn and yes, most probably you would need to have the engine rebuilt.
