Engine stall

While driving the engine does not die but the car does not go. The RPM's rev but goes nowhere. This is in Drive or reverse. It has happened a couple of times. First and third time I was able to pull off the road and turn off the car. Sat for a few minutes restarted and it was fine. But the second time it never started up again. Had to have it towed and they replaced the MAF and Idle Air Control Valve. My check engine light had been on previous to this and it was saying P0448, Evaporative Emmission System Vent Control Circuit. Would this have anything to do with was happened with the car or not? What else could be wrong with it?

If it runs but the car won't move, it's more likely to do with the transaxle. Have it scanned for codes again. Also check fluid level.
