Early yesterday, Car started jerking slightly, with REP dropping for a second and then back to normal, check engine light blinking, the jerking repeating every few seconds, as if one cylinder was not firing; then later yesterday, dashboard control illuminations suddenly turned dark for a few seconds,, with all the rpm/odometer readings off and dark, then lights come back on for a minute or two, then off again--repeating; car continued to have power and steering all during this.

Thanks for any suggestions; it's going to a garage on Monday.

You have a misfire. Have the codes read and they will point to to the right cylinder and then you will have to determine the cause.
