misfire come and go

i got a '06 pilot 2wd exl, it's been having a random misfires now and then. i got the valves adjusted..but again the lite came on ans it says misfire on po301...i'm getting frustrated, pls. help

P0301 is a misfire at cyl no.1 -check the spark, compression and injector

It could be two problems
1st- The PGM-FI software misinterprets inputs, causing the
DTCs to set. Need to bring it to the dealership and have them update the PGM-Fi software.
2nd- If the engine taps/raps loudly when going into VCM mode it will causes misfire codes. The rear bank VCM rocker arm pins sticking. In this case the rear intake and exchaust rocker arms needs replacement.

Most likely you only need the PGM-FI software update.
